1966 vespa 150 super – 1951 Roman Holiday reproduction

We were contacted by local movie theater chain Harkins and asked to build a reproduction of the 1951 vespa used in the 1953 movie Roman holiday, ridden by Gregory peck and Audrey Hepburn. We found a Vietnamese restored 150 super that had already been made to look like handle bar vespa and dis-assembled it, built a dummy motor, re-painted it and added the correct reproduction 1951 parts to complete the movie look. We had an exact copy of the original license plate that was used on the bike in the movie made and even found the same tax registration disc accessory for the bike. We wired in LED lights to an extension cord so they could plug the bike in and light up both headlight and taillight. Bike was built for display purposes only, NO actual 1951 parts or vespas were used or harmed to build this. You can goto the Harkins Camelview movie theater at the Scottsdale fashion square to see the bike from the balcony as it sets atop a beam overhead.
